Brian Shtab, DPT joins Integrative Spine and Sports as our newest physical therapist. Throughout his life, Brian always had a passion for health and wellness. He first received his Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition & Dietetics with a minor in Spanish and then went on to pursue his Doctoral Degree at NYU in Physical Therapy with a focus on orthopedics rehab during his clinical affiliations.

During his graduate studies, Brian became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). Additionally, he has taken continuing education coursework emphasizing the use of Kettlebell, Pilates, and Strength Training applied to orthopedic and sports rehabilitation.

Brian’s approach utilizes principles of manual therapy in conjunction with exercise-based interventions to promote optimal patient outcomes. With experience playing volleyball, running, swimming, and strength training, Brian came to understand the importance of injury prevention and of an individualized approach to rehab. He recognizes the importance of utilizing the principles of strength and conditioning to help balance the physical demands of athletes and patients alike. During his clinical rotations, Brian obtained training in both general orthopedics and sports-focused settings. During these experiences, he worked with patients ranging from team members of New York Rugby Club (RUNY) to runners, to other individuals seeking to return to active lifestyles.

In addition to his background in orthopedics, Brian also received additional training treating individuals with neurological conditions at Mount Sinai Hospital’s traumatic brain injury rehab unit.
