Meredith Moreland, PT, DPT
Doctor of Physical Therapy
Meredith Moreland is a Doctor of Physical Therapy with specialized expertise in orthopedics and performing arts medicine. She earned her doctorate from Texas State University, gaining scholarships and valuable clinical experience across diverse orthopedic settings. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a specialization in Medical Fitness and Rehabilitation from The University of Texas at Austin (hook ’em horns!). She graduated with honors from both universities, and contributed to research development and presentation across numerous conferences on concussion prevention, Parksinson’s disease, and the biomechanics of jumps and plyometric work.
Before beginning her career in physical therapy, Meredith was a professional ballet dancer with The Sarasota Ballet. Her transition into PT was inspired by the connection observed between the deep understanding and appreciation for movement as both a dancer and clinician, as noted by working with the physical therapist on staff within her ballet company. Drawing from her extensive dance background-including training at the School of American Ballet, Houston Ballet, and Pacific Northwest Ballet-she brings over 20 years of experience to her work with dancers and performing artists. Her goal is to bridge clinical expertise with the unique demands of performance to provide rehabilitation in addition to injury prevention techniques to all she encounters.
While dancers remain a special clinical interest, Meredith enjoys treating movers of all backgrounds and activity levels. She is committed to helping individuals return to the activities they love while building long-term tools for growth and resilience. Meredith is an Active Release Techniques (ART) provider and has developed a comprehensive skill set through her clinical affiliation at the Harkness Center for Dance Injuries at NYU Langone, as well as through additional orthopedic clinical rotations across the country. She has presented on topics including hypermobility considerations, handheld dynamometry in muscle testing, and vestibular rehabilitation throughout her clinical experience.
Outside the clinic, Meredith enjoys running, taking dance and Pilates classes, and always has a new craft project in the works. Her treatment philosophy centers on personalized, patient-focused care — aiming to identify the root cause of injury and empower patients with the knowledge and tools needed for successful rehabilitation.
